This is the result of a student project for the course 3D Surfaces and might be used later in an upcoming game project.

Thoughts

This Character has been made with a very old game series in mind (Cultures) and may be used in the development of a similar game in the future.
I wanted to get away from realism and made the appearance more fantasy like. This includes the obligatory (and not at all historical correct) horned helmet and the stylized body shape. 

This has been created by finding a reference, blocking it out, going through multiple processes of creating the hair, then shaping everything into a highpoly version.
After this, everything got retopologized and reworked, if necessary. This was done by either deleting some excess loops or using blenders retopology tools.

Next, the highpoly was baked on the lowpoly version of the character with the help of substance painter, then texturized.

The result was then imported into Unreal Engine and complemented with a stylized forest diorama for presentation.

The biggest challenge was the retopology oh the hairs, although that resulted more in a very repetitive task of deleting loops and mapping UVs of every single hair.
